🤒 Associated Symptoms
Severe or Worsening Pain: Uncontrolled pain despite medication, or pain that shifts to a new location and becomes more intense.
Fever and Chills: These can indicate a urinary tract infection (UTI) or a more serious kidney infection, especially if accompanied by flank pain.
Inability to Urinate: Complete blockage of urine flow is an emergency and requires immediate medical attention.
Persistent Nausea or Vomiting: If you cannot keep fluids or medications down, you risk dehydration and inadequate pain control.
New or Worsening Blood in Urine: While some blood is expected, a significant increase or new onset of gross hematuria should be reported.

Calcium Intake: Do not restrict calcium unless specifically advised by your doctor. Adequate dietary calcium can actually help prevent certain stone types.
Oxalate-Rich Foods (if applicable): If your stone type is calcium oxalate, your doctor may advise limiting foods high in oxalate like spinach, rhubarb, nuts, and chocolate.
